From The Grand Knight December 2007 Merry Christmas:I want to wish all of my fellow brother knights a Merry Christmas and may the light of Christ shine upon you and your family always. To date we have had a very good year, with your help we have accomplished many good deeds for our Church and our Community. We are approaching mid-year of our Fraternal year and there is still much to do. On Christmas Eve 2:00pm Paul Byrnes will be heading up a group of Knights to go down to McGuire’s VA Hospital and serve the vet’s a nice Christmas Eve Dinner. Anyone interested in helping out please contact Paul and let him know that you want to join the group. By the way this is a good family event and many Knights bring their children to help serve the dinner. The veterans seem to really light up when they see the children coming to visit them. Make this Christmas a special one and offer your Love to those in need. Congratulations to the following brother Knights who recently made their 2nd Degree and a step closer to full Knighthood. Michael Allen, Rick Blair, Greg Chew, Rob Cornelius, Alberto Gay, Bill Reiner, Mike Zannetti, Matt Anderson, Ed Cary, Brian Fraim, Dave Ward, and Jeff Kolpa. Anyone not having received their 3rd Degree and would like to complete their journey to full Knighthood, there will be a 3rd Degree at St. Ann’s in Ashland on Dec. 1, 2007. Knights need to be there by 10:30. If you can make this Degree please contact me at 559-3466. A group of us plan on car pooling from Redeemer Parking lot at 10:15 am. Big Thank You goes out to Alex Kulinowski and everyone who lent a hand to put on our Yard Sale. Alex told me that we raised over $1100.00, Great Job. Another brother who did an excellent job is Bob Blade who led up the Rose Sale. With the support of many brother knights we sold over 200 dozen roses and made a little over $1400.00. Thank You All for your Support!! Over the next few weeks our Financial Secretary, Steve Gerloff will be mailing out our membership dues invoice. Total membership dues including ( PPDPK Penny Per Day Per Knight) is $40.00. Please try to remit payment ASAP so that Steve can get the books closed by the beginning of January and save on postage for any second billing request. January is our recruitment month. Please ask a fellow parishioner if they would like to join our Order. Every brother knight knows someone in church that you can ask. If you know of someone and are not sure of what to say then grab an officer of our Council, or our Membership Chairman Joe McFadden or myself and we will talk to that person together. Entertainment Books and Christmas Cards will be on sale the weekend of December 8-9, along with Casino Tickets, after all masses at Church. That will be the last opportunity to be able to buy Entertainment Books or Christmas Cards. From that point on we will focus on the Knights Casino Royale. The proceeds will benefit both us and our Church. Please mark your calendars for January 26, 2008 to plan on either working the event or being a player at the event. Everyone’s help will be needed to make this a successful event. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Vivat Jesus, Ray Santucci, Grand Knight VA Hospital Visit - December 24This would be a good year to join many other Brother Knights at the VA hospital on December 24th. This is a yearly event sponsored by all the councils and assemblies in the Richmond area. Each council and assembly brings food that we serve to all the Vets on this special day. It is a complete meal that we serve to all. If they can’t join us at the hall, we take the dinner to their rooms. We will car pool from the library at Atlee Rd. and Rt301 at 1:45 PM and will be back at the library by 4:30PM. You will enjoy this experience.Contact Paul Byrnes Support our sponsors!
