From The Grand Knight September 2007 Brother Knights, The Knights family Picnic last Saturday was a perfect ending to our summer activities and I would like to thank all of the families who attended this wonderful event. The weather was great, the pig was cooked to perfection and the beer was good and cold. Life was certainly good that day. I want to especially thank our hosts Mike, JoAnn, Marie (baby Emma) and Chris Bonelli, for once again opening up their home to us. I also want to thank the guys and boy scouts who help set up on Friday night and those men who got up at 5:00am to put the pig on the spit, and Scott Wyatt for providing the pig to us. A big thank you goes out to Dave Tinney for providing us with some good retro music and vocals. Last but not least I want to thnk Fr. Jim for coming out and giving us Mass and Communion. This event would not be as rewarding if we could not partake in the Celebration of Life. I know it must have been very difficult this year for Fr. Jim to take time away from his own family and his father's bedside to spend an afternoon with us. "Thank you Fr. Jim" and please know that our prayers are with you and your family as you deal with your father's illness. Rest assured as you are always here for us we are ready to be there for you and your family when needed. Thank You once again. Looking forward into our calendar year I like to invite our members to the September Business Meeting this Monday Sept. 10 @ 7:00pm at the Verdi Lodge. Come on out and meet our newest members as they take their 1st Degree. Please remember to support our KCIC Program and buy some Christmas Cards. Lin Diacont will be at the Sept. and Oct. meetings to take your orders or to accept donations to buy cards for our service men and women in Iraq. On Sept. 26 there will be a Casino Training night in the basement of my home from 7-9pm. Joe Massino is going to set up a few gaming tables so we can practice the art of running a gaming table and dealing cards. Snacks and beverages will be provided but feel free and bring a side dish to share. This will be a fun mock event and it is important that we all get this hands-on training. Please try to attend. Remember that we will once again have a car wash fund raiser during October from the 2nd to the 16th. Please mark your calendars and try to get your car washed at one of the Grand Prix Auto Washes during that time. Finally I like to congratulate our members who made Family of the Month for July and August and Knight of the Month for July and August. Knight of the Month for July was Norman Carter and family of the Month for July was Jerry and Mary Stack. Knight of the Month for August was Mike Matassa and Family of the Month for August was Joe and Diane McFadden. Contratulations and Thank You for your dedication to our Council. Vivat Jesus,
Ray Santucci
